Bicycle trails in and around Saundersfoot

Family bike rides are a great way to see the countryside and let the kids burn of some excess energy. So bikes out, helmets on and let the kids rip!

Discover even more of Pembrokeshire Coast by heading out on your bike. Whether you’re looking for family rides, or just a get away with your bike, Saundersfoot is a great place to start off with your adventure as it is right on one of the 10 best cycle trails in Pembrokeshire!

The cycling route between Saundersfoot and Stepaside (The Dramway) is completely family friendly. It is traffic-free cycle route that takes you along a disused railway line plus the trail is mostly flat, surfaced, and extremely scenic. If you are a more adventurous rider than we would recommend to take the trail a bit further to explore the woodlands in Amroth and make your way back over some steeper hills along the coast. This trail can also be combined with a quick visit to Colby Woodland Garden in Amroth. If you do wish to push on a bit further, the trail eventually joins up with National Cycle Route 4 so you can plan a longer ride if you’d like to.

The Dramway – Stepaside to Saundersfoot
The Dramway is a popular cycle route in the south of the National Park that runs right along the coastline. At 4 miles it is one of the shortest trails in the Park, but there is still plenty for you to see!

This hugely popular walking and cycle trail hugs the cliffs along the seafront, from Saundersfoot, disappears into a tunnel and pops out in Wiseman’s Bridge before taking you up the aptly named Pleasant Valley to Stepaside. You’re riding the old railway line that ran down form the old Ironworks, so lots of interesting features to look at. And the sea looks great from this angle too. Bring a torch!
